Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a different fish for this recipe?

Yes. Any firm white fish, such as haddock or hake, works well in place of cod. Just keep an eye on cooking time, as thickness can vary between fillets.

What can I serve with baked cod?

This dish pairs nicely with simple sides like steamed vegetables, a green salad, new potatoes, or rice. A squeeze of extra lemon on serving brightens the flavours.

Can I make the herb crust ahead of time?

Yes, you can mix the breadcrumb and herb topping a few hours in advance and keep it covered in the fridge until you’re ready to bake.

Is this recipe suitable for kids?

Yes, the flavours are mild and family-friendly. You can reduce the pepper or herbs slightly if cooking for younger children with more sensitive palates.
