The ad tells the story of a single mother trying to engage her young son in the Christmas festivities. From decorating the tree to wandering around a Christmas market and having fun in the snow, the mum keeps trying to connect with her son – who seems distant and distracted.
As the story unfolds, we see he’s really fighting with his inner child, who just wants to play and have fun with his mum, the way he used to.
Becky Hill’s beautiful cover of “Forever Young” adds to the emotion of the whole thing. At the time of release, McDonald’s pledged that 10p from every download of the single would go to FareShare UK, a charity working to tackle food poverty.
