As kids we were always sewing, from making simple clothes and accessories for our toys, to even making the cuddly toys themselves from material scraps. I found these cute hand sewn felt owls on Favecrafts. They are simple to make and are a great way of using up old scraps of material.

Your child may need a little bit of help with this cute cloth doll from crazy little projects, but the finished doll is well worth the effort.
#3. Sew Your Children’s Drawings
Bring your child’s drawing to life by creating a pattern from it and stitching it together using fabric. We got this neat idea from Martha Stewart.
#4. Felt Robot
This Felt Robot would make a great starter project for kids. I found it on Slair’s Lair blog, where you will find a downloadable version of the pattern.

I found these cute flowers over on Red Ted Art. They are simple to create and could be used to decorate clothes or added to your accessories, bags, pillow case etc to give them an individual look.

#7. Canvas Tote Bag
I love this Canvas Tote Bag with a front pocket from The Sewing Loft Blog. It is easier if you have a sewing machine for this project, but you could try hand sewing too.

This pattern for a handsewn glasses pouch uses left over beads and felt and could be scaled up to create a handy mobile phone cover. It comes from the blog How To Sew and this would make a lovely present for relatives.
