As parents we know that talking matters, but we also know that starting the conversation can be difficult.
We have teamed up with Drinkaware to get your feedback about young people and alcohol. What has helped you as a parent have conversations with your child(ren), what concerns do you have and what advice you would give other parents around young people and drinking?
To be in with a chance of winning this super prize, simply share your feedback on our short survey about ‘Talking Matters’, young people and alcohol, and enter your details at the end.
Best of luck.
Talking Matters
“Talking Matters” is an initiative from Drinkaware who passionately believe that parents need to be supported with information, advice and tips for how to communicate and role model positive behaviours towards alcohol.
They are looking for you to share your tips, advice and feedback on what has worked for you when it comes to your young person and alcohol, so these can be shared with other parents to help them have positive conversations with their young person.
Drinkaware recently launched the ‘Talking Matters’ parent’s booklet which covers:
- How and when to talk to your child about alcohol,
- The risks of underage alcohol use,
- The importance of building resilience in young people,
- How you might respond to certain questions,
- The importance of prevention
- The law and alcohol in Ireland.
