About Steve Backshall
Steve has been passionate about the wild world ever since he could crawl. Growing up, he counted the animals that lived around him as his best pals – from the asthmatic donkey to the grass snakes in the manure heap!
Steve has circumnavigated the globe time and again, living in the Colombian jungle, venturing into the Sinai desert, completing the Israeli paratroopers selection course, catching anacondas, vipers and cobras and (perhaps the best job ever) making The Ten Great Dives of the World, for the long-running series Earthpulse.
Steve, who is also a shark expert, has been discovering the amazing sights and sounds in the depths of our oceans in his Sky Nature three-part series Shark with Steve Backshall.
He also presents the BBC’s Deadly 60 programme, where he tracked down and highlighted 60 of the world’s deadliest animals.
