Online retailer Amazon is launching a new book box subscription for children designed to encourage reading amongst kids. Amazon’s New Book Box Subscription for Kids Has Arrived:
Sign up for our free Newsletter stuffed full of ideas, competitions and offers. PS Did we mention it’s free?
Called Prime Book Box, the new subscription service will be available in one, two, or three-month subscriptions, and delivers a box of discounted books direct to your home, it saves you up to 35% off the list price of the books in the box.
Books in Amazon’s Prime Book Box are divided by age group. Toddlers will receive four board books while older kids between ages 3-12 will receive either two hardcover picture books or two novels.
When you subscribe, you choose the age group you’re buying for, there are 4 age categories to choose from:
- birth to two years
- three to five years
- six to eight years
- nine to twelve years.
If you have more than one child, you’ll need to sign up for multiple subscriptions, they are not mixed age.
Prime Book Box subscribers will get a preview of what’s expected to ship in their next box before it gets sent out, so if you are not interested in a particular title, e.g. you already own it, then you can choose from some alternatives. Amazon will also keep track on what titles you’ve ordered previously and will not include any of your previous Amazon purchases.
Amazon Prime Book Box is currently available via invitation only for Prime members on Amazon.com, You can request an invitation to join the program.
Let’s hope they roll it out to Amazon.co.uk soon!
