Are you looking for some inspiring play ideas for your little one? How about making some colourful potions? Using materials you will find in your own backyard, or on a nature walk, here’s how to make a Pretty Petal Potion for Creative Play Activities.
Potions are a fun way to play with nature’s loose parts, and are perfect for creative imaginary play. For added sparkle, we added some glitter.
My little one, Dot, had so much fun with this activity, so why not give it a go with your child?
- Flower Stems
- Gum nuts
- Water Bowls
Method / What we Did:
- This is an open-ended activity, so there is no right or wrong way to do it!
- Dot ended up using the water bowl instead of her pot as her cauldron, and her favourite thing was the glitter vial – it all ended up in her pot.
- Miss Dot had so much fun adding all the different elements. She enjoyed stirring her potion as well, having much delight fishing out each element to discover they were now coated in glitter. She thought it was magic. ❤
Focus of this activity: sensory imagination, self-expression, and creativity.
