Have you heard about the notorious Page 9 Scorpion? Do you know how to spot if a new teacher in your school is secretly a vampire? All will be revealed in this hilarious kids book by Irish comedian, David O’Doherty.
‘Danger is Everywhere’ is a handbook for avoiding danger of all kinds. In it Doctor Noel Zone describes in detail how to react when encountering strange, wild animals like the toilet shark (they hate Jazz, by the way) and how to avoid danger in ordinary everyday places like at school or in the supermarket. As he states over and over in large capital letters throughout the book ‘DANGER IS EVERYWHERE.’
By reading this comical kid’s book, your kids will become qualified DANGEROLOGISTS and earn themselves a Diploma of Dangerology!
My 8 year old son adored this book! Regularly laughing out loud and running up to show me the funny illustrations, by illustrator, Chris Judge.
‘This book is so funny!! He thinks really normal things are dangerous, like doing homework or visiting granny.’
Parents might also like to read this book, particularly for his section on ‘Birthday Parties,’ where he advises, ‘The longer it goes on, the more things that can go wrong,’ and the classic, ‘The more people you allow, The more people will go owww.’
Children’s Reading Initiative
The book was recently selected by Dublin City Public Libraries as part of their Citywide Reading Campaign for Children. The Citywide Reading Initiative is run by Dublin UNESCO City of Literature and Dublin City Public Libraries and it aims to encourage children to read for pleasure. The campaign runs from January to March 2015.
This kids book is a whole lot of fun! I heartily recommend it even though I was attacked by the Page 9 Scorpion! You can purchase ‘Danger is Everywhere’ online here.
