One of the most iconic Christmas ads is always the longstanding Coca Cola Christmas truck that, for many, signifies the start of the holidays. This year’s festive offering from the global brand shows a young boy start to build a dream before the whole building comes together to make it a reality.
Take a look at the heartwarming 2021 Coca Cola Christmas ad here:
Coca Cola Christmas Ad 2021
As a mother and son move into a new apartment building that is certainly lacking in festive spirit, the young boy realises they have no chimney for Santa to come down with presents.
Surrounded by moving boxes, he starts to build his own chimney with the ambitious determination that Christmas seems to bring out in most of us! Seeing his enthusiasm, his mother is quick to get involved, and soon their makeshift chimney is heading out the window and up the fire escape.
It isn’t long before neighbours and families in the building join in, creating a warren of cardboard boxes through the building to the roof, festooned with multicoloured lights, all ready for Santa’s arrival.

On Christmas morning, the young boy is naturally excited – but we soon discover that the homemade chimney was not for his benefit, but for his elderly neighbour instead. Her surprise and delight to receive a gift through the chimney opening at her window is touching, but not as much as the invitation it contains to join them for Christmas lunch.
As the neighbours and new friends gather for their Christmas spread, the community spirit and togetherness that we have all been missing is evident. Let’s hope we all get the same celebrations with friends and family this Christmas!
Entitled ‘Chimney’, the ad features an instrumental version of the instantly recognisable Mary Poppins song, Chim-Chim-Cheree.
