Kenwood has teamed up with the Association of Teachers of Home Economics (ATHE) for the first Kenwood Young Baker competition in Ireland, which is a brilliant opportunity for all aspiring chefs!

Kenwood is calling on students in Ireland aged 12-18 years to enter their best bakes for a chance to win a complete Kenwood kitchen kit. And the icing on the cake? Your school’s Home Economics room will get a full kit-out too!

Kenwood Young Baker Competition: The Details

Kenwood Young Baker competition

There are two categories in the Kenwood Young Baker competition – Junior (1st-3rd year) and Senior (4th-6th year).

You don’t have to be a Home Economics student to enter – perhaps you honed your skills as a home baker during lockdown and you have the right stuff to fold, knead, bake and ice your way to victory!

Who Are the Judges?

The judges include Chef Patrick Ryan from the award-winning Firehouse bakery and bread school; Susan Coleman, Channel Manager for De’longhi Group in Ireland; and Sinead Keegan, President of ATHE.

The judges will be looking for creativity, presentation, sophistication and originality.

What’s the Prize?

The overall Kenwood Young Baker in Junior and Senior categories will each win a Kenwood kMix, a €3,500 voucher for the Home Economics class, and an online baking masterclass with Patrick Ryan for the class.

The second and third place runners up in each category will receive a Kenwood Chefette.

Every entry will also receive an online certificate.

How Can I Enter?

To enter, simply upload your original recipe and a photo or video of you making it to the Kenwood Young Baker competition. The closing date is October 19th, with winners announced on November 2nd.

So, grab your spatula – it’s time to get baking!
