Lots of people love Nutella but it is high in sugar and not really that healthy an option to give to kids. Here’s a healthy Nutella alternative made with avocado (!) that is ideal for spreading on toast for a quick snack or as an alternative frosting for cakes and brownies:

As well as being delicious, this healthy Nutella alternative also provides healthy fats, fibre, and vitamins K, B6, E, and C.
This recipe makes about 1 and 1/4 cups.
Ingredients
- 1 ripe medium avocado
- 1/2 cup raw cacao powder
- 1/2 cup + 1 tblsp maple syrup
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
Method
- Half the avocado, remove the pit and scoop out the flesh.
- Add with the rest of the ingredients to a food processor and process until smooth.
You can keep any unused spread (!) in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
