An average of 3,000 children and young people come into the service every year throughout Ireland. Rainbows provides peer group support programmes for children and young people impacted by bereavement or parental separation.
What Rainbows Ireland Offers
- Support in a safe place where children can meet and share their loss experience with others in a similar situation – “I’m not the only one”
- Support for children to be able to name and share their feelings
- Support to help rebuild self-esteem, trust, and self confidence
- Support children to begin to adjust to the changes in their life in a positive and healthy way
Rainbows Ireland is small charity organisation with a national reach of programme delivery to children and young people in primary and secondary schools, family resource centres and youth and community projects. These children are not sick, they do not need medical treatment. They do need support as they struggle to adapt and adjust to a changed world following the death of someone they love or their family changing after parents separate.
