In Carlow you’ll find modern adventure playgrounds with great swinging and climbing equipment, while others are smaller neighbourhood playgrounds with more modest equipment that will entertain the kids for a little while. Most of them cater for children up to 12 or 14 years old.

Carlow Town Park Playground
Recently upgraded, the Carlow Town Park Playground is brightly coloured with lots of equipment including swings, basket swing, slides, multiplay equipment and climbers.
Oisin Park
At Oisin Park you will find an enclosed outdoor children’s playground, with a picnic area with spectacular views of Carlow Town and the Barrow Valley. Free private car park and public toilets.
Rancho Reilly’s
At Rancho Reilly’s as well as visiting the animals on the farm, you can enjoy a fun outdoor play area with roundabout, trampolines, swings, slides, sandpits and more. There’s also a picnic area to enjoy.
NB There is an admission fee of €3.50 per adult and €7.50 per child over 1 year.
Rathwood Playground
At Rathwood they have an outdoor playground with swings and slides to suit children of different ages, located next to Rathwood’s restaurant. Outdoor seating is available so you can supervise the kids while relaxing and enjoying a cup of coffee.
Tinryland Park Playground
Tinryland is a picturesque village located 5.5km from Carlow Town. It has a local community park with a playground, astroturf and park areas.
Oak Park Forest Park
Oak Park Forest Park has an accessible playground with swings including a wheelchair swing and slides. After a play, you can head off for a walk in the park, there are colour-coded trails, with wheelchair-accessible surfaces, including a looped boardwalk. Look out for ducks and swans. Picnic area also available.
