If you’re looking for some ideas for things to do with the kids in North Dublin, here are some super fun playgrounds in North Dublin:

Maypark, Donnycarney, Dublin 5

Maypark playground has a good layout with separate area for toddlers. There’s a small carpark to the left of the park or in front of the clinic, parking is free.

Newbridge Demesne, Donabate

Kellie is a fan of Newbridge House adventure playground in Donabate. “It’s a big playground & there is plenty to keep the big & little kids amused. It’s close to the carpark which is great & there are toilets in close proximity which is a bonus. There’s also plenty of benches & it’s well kept!”

While there, you can also visit the working farm, house, walled garden and woodland trails for a day packed full of adventures.

Malahide Castle

Malahide Castle Playground

The playground is split into two sections, with an area more suited to toddlers and an area containing climbing frames and slides more suited to older kids. There is a nice picnic area with tables and benches.

Millenium Park, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15

The Millenium Park playground has a great slide suitable for 5+, plenty of fun play equipment for all ages. The park also has a skateboard area and astroturf pitches. There is free parking a short walk from the playground.

Ardgillan Demesne, Balbriggan

Ardgillan Playground

The playground at Ardgillan Castle near Balbriggan is a huge colourful playground with large climbing frame, sociable swings, flying fox and other cool equipment. There’s lots to do for all ages. In addition you can visit the Rose Garden and Ardgillan House where you will find a café and toilets.

Susan says that “It is free to visit and the playground is surrounded by park and woodland for the kids to explore.”

Father Collins Park, Donaghmede, Dublin 13

At Father Collins Park in Donaghmede, there are 2 playgrounds, a skating/bike area, chess area, sports pitch etc. There are loads of picnic tables so you can have a really nice time out with the kids. There’s plenty of free parking.

Visitors Centre Playground, Phoenix Park

The Playground at the Visitors Centre in Phoenix Park has a climbing frame in the shape of a dinosaur & small houses that toddlers can sit in. There is a lovely cafe in the visitors centre which has toilets. Parking is available but limited during summer & school holidays when it gets busy.

Fairview Playground, Dublin 3.

Fairview Park

There are 2 small playgrounds at Fairview so kids will never have to queue. Just be aware that the Park is beside the busy Malahide Road, caution is required. Parking is Pay and display on the main road in front of the park.

St Anne’s Park, Clontarf, Dublin 3

St Anne’s Park in Clontarf has a great playground with super equipment including a wobbly crocodile and a Viking Ship as well as zip line and spider web climbing equipment. The picnic tables outside the playground are ideal for a picnic on a warm day.

You can stroll through the park to the pond and don’t miss the Rose Gardens, 5 minutes away from the playground. On Saturdays a small train operates around the playground and rose garden. There’s a cafe at the Red Stables as well as a farmers market.
