Pirates Den Adventure Centre
The Pirates Den Adventure Centre in Dundalk is a great indoor soft play area which conveniently has areas designed for babies aged between 0-2yrs, Toddlers from 2-5yrs and the big kids zone for children aged 5 and over. Their facilities include a ball pool, rope bridges, slides, swing ropes and much more. They have a café for the parents to relax while the kids play.
Drogheda Leisure Park
There’s plenty to amuse the whole family at Drogheda Leisure Park! Their wide range of facilities includes Rockets ten pin bowling, indoor soccer, and their brilliant Astrotots play area where parents can enjoy a coffee while the children play.
Air Bound Trampoline Centre
The Air Bound Trampoline Centre in Dundalk has a wide range of activities perfect for a rainy day! Air Bound is made up of hundreds of square metres of interlocking trampolines covering the floor space and going up the walls. Afterwards, have a bite to eat in their Air Bound Café. Check what’s on at Droichead Arts Centre in Drogheda! As well as regular theatre, music and cinema events, they run lots of different exhibitions and workshops for kids. They have venues at Barlow House and on Stockwell Street.

Dundalk County Museum
Located in a lovingly restored late 18th Century warehouse in Townparks, Dundalk County Museum celebrates the story of County Louth’s rich social and cultural history from the pre-Christian era up to the present day. The Museum also offers an extensive programme of talks, workshops, concerts and temporary exhibitions throughout the year. Some of their fascinating artefacts include the Mell flake, the earliest artefact to have been found in Ireland and Oliver Cromwell’s shaving mirror!
Drogheda Museum Millmount
Visit Drogheda Museum Millmount and take a tour of the Museum and Martello Towers. It tells the history of Drogheda and the Boyne Valley and has a mixture of items on display from Bronze age finds to medieval items to looms. Popular exhibits at the Museum include an authentic 18th century Irish folk kitchen, dairy and laundry, and the Irish History Room which details the major events in Ireland’s history. The whole fort has been designated the town’s Cultural Quarter, hosting a wealth of craft and design workshops in which visitors can experience unique and specialised designs being created.
Get Reading at Louth Libraries!
