Children just love to go on a picnic, don’t they?  Here are the best parks and places around Cavan that are just great for a picnic with the kids.

Dun na Ri Forest Park – Romantic walks through deep leafy glades and over old bridges.  Wishing Well and children’s playground.

Killykeen Forest Park – 5 miles west of Cavan town in the heart of Cavan’s Lakelands are trails that lead through dark forests, over bridges and along river banks. Picnic areas and children’s playground.

Tullydermot Falls – The dramatic waterfalls are situated approximately 6km south-west of Swanlinbar in the direction of the Bellavally Gap.  The Tullydermot viewpoint overlooks Slieve Rushen and the lowlands of north Cavan.  There is also a good view of the summit of Cuilcagh Mountain.

Con Smith Park – Situated next to the playground and river and is a great spot for a picnic and a runaround
