There are some great family friendly places to “eat out” in Donegal, we’ve put together a few places that we think you might like in Bundoran, Shannon and Donegal Town. We also have recommended places to eat with kids in Letterkenny.

La Sabbia

La Sabbia has soups, pizza’s, pastas, salads, burger. The exterior could do with a bit of a sprucing up, but don’t judge a book by it”s cover.

Mello Cafe

Mello Cafe is pleasant, friendly, spacious. Good food. But no baby changeing facility. My kids loved the blackboard and books!

Muse Bistro

Good food, good atmosphere, good service at Muse Bistro. There’s something on the menu to suit all tastes.

The Gaslight Restaurant

Watch the surfers at the Gaslight Restaurant & enjoy the view of Rossnowlagh Beach! Good food and very reasonable. 5 course Sunday Lunch can be got for under €20!

Dom’s Pier 1

Dom’s Pier 1 is very good value for money. A good child friendly environment; while it can be busy, the service is usually good. They have an excellent child menu but will also do half portions off the main menu.

La Bella Donna

Why is it kids seem to love Italian food??!! If you are looking for somewhere suitable to bring the children in the evening and still enjoy yourself, La Bella Donna is the place.

Aroma Coffee Shop

My favourite! Aroma Coffee Shop is not very spacous, so more suitable for older children. Perfect, if you want to stop off for a soup or sandwich. freshly baked bread daily.

The Harbour

There’s a comprehensive menu at The Harbour, including seafood, steaks and pasta dishes. Very welcoming to families. toys provided for younger children and colouring material for older children. It has its own pizzeria, which can be seen at the back of the restaurant – great entertainment for the children to watch!!

Blueberry Tea Room

Blueberry Tea Room is definitely not suitable for buggies! But a great spot non-the-less!  Helpful staff, great food, nothing is a problem. Very popular though, so I’d advise not going at lunch-time unless you are willing to wait for a table. There is no way you can leave here with out having one of their homemade desserts…

The Clock Tower

Not far from Fintra Beach, the Clock Tower is a very busy spot. Good “Bar Food” and The Little Biters” menu has plenty to choose from. A very popular family spot.
