Have you ever filled a Christmas Shoebox? Team Hope has put out its annual appeal for families, school kids and communities to help them deliver gift-filled shoeboxes to needy kids in poorer parts of the world.
Read on to find out how you can support the Christmas Shoebox Appeal 2023.
Team Hope Shoebox Appeal 2023
Team Hope’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal is an annual campaign that delivers gifts straight into the hands of children affected by poverty. Often these shoebox gifts are the only gift that a child will receive at Christmas, and the joy that they bring is incredible.
The appeal aims to send 200,000 gift-filled shoeboxes directly to children facing poverty in 13 countries across Africa and Eastern Europe.
Shoebox Week runs from November 6th to 12th 2023 and will see schools, families and communities across Ireland build their shoeboxes at home or online.
How to Build a Christmas Shoebox

It has never been easier to build a shoebox. All you have to do is find an empty shoebox, wrap it in Christmas paper and fill it with gifts for a boy or girl aged between 2 and 14, give online or attach a €4 donation and bring it to a local drop off point before the deadline of November 10th 2023.
If you are finding it difficult to find a used shoebox to send your gifts in, Team Hope have developed Flat Pack Shoeboxes to save you the hassle of hunting them out – and wrapping them, you can pick these up in stores across Ireland.
Or if you prefer you can build-a-box online by making a donation on the Team Hope website.
What to Put into Your Christmas Shoebox
When considering items that are best to gift, think of the 4W’s:

- Wash – Comb, Soap, Sponge, Toothbrush & Toothpaste, Washcloth
