Carrick on Shannon Slí Walking Route

An easy one by the river in Carrick is the Carrick on Shannon Slí Walking Route – 5.5km and starts near the bridge, opposite the remains of the Castle Carrickdrumruske. This is a lovely walk along by the river in parts.

Glenfarne Forest Walk

Enjoy fantastic views of Lough MacNean across to Fermanagh on a two hour ramble in Glenfarne Forest, part of the Glenfarne Demesne.

You can also follow part of the MacNean Sculpture Trail and see some of the wonderful pieces en route. Read about the history of the Tottenham Estate and visit Ladies Rest, where the ladies from the Great Hall would come to bathe and relax.

The walk is on forest paths and tracks and is self-guided with a choice of 3 varied lengths circular signposted walks.
