# 9. Treasure Hunt Party Theme Ideas

Treasure Hunt Party theme

    • Invitations: You could create invitations from a rolled up treasure map with x marks the spot (your home or venue), as the place to assemble. Roll it up like a scroll for extra authenticity. Or if you are not going for a pirate treasure hunt theme, send a cryptic rhyme as your invitation.
    • Decorations: Safari hats, magnifiying glasses, print outs of famous explorers and a giant treasure map.Or go for a pirate theme and have treasure chests and pirate maps.
    • Costumes/Party Wear: Ask guests to come as super sleuths or pirates depending on theme of your treasure hunt.
    • Party Food: Cupcakes or biscuits with cryptic writing or question marks, alphabet sweets, edible paper, crossbones bread, make bread dough and shape into crossbones, homemade pizza and let each child put their own ‘treasure’ on it before baking.
    • Party Games: Depending on the age of your guests you could hide treasure around the house, garden or party venue and get the kids to search for clues until they find the hidden treasure. Or you could have a scavenger hunt. For older children, you could pick local landmarks and create a series of rhymes or questions that they need to solve to find out where the treasure is. As hiding clues at local landmarks may not work, make the 1st letter of each answer spell out where the treasure is hidden. Ultimately the treasure could be back at your home or venue or you could send them to an ice-cream shop, café or restaurant for a treat tea that you have paid for in advance. Most towns and cities have monuments with names and dates or a verse of poetry that you can base your questions on. Or ask what can you see or what can you do/play at that spot type questions. Not only will guests have loads of fun trying to figure out where the treasure is, they may also lean more about their town or city. Be creative! Finally teens or older kids could go Geocaching.
    • Party Bags: Use brown paper bags for your party bags and draw a treasure map on them. Inside you could add a magnifying glass or binoculars, deerstalker hats, a book with some local history, puzzle books, notebook and pens or pirate hats and eye patches.

# 10. Army/Camouflage Party Party Theme Ideas

Party Theme Camouflage
